Refresher training course. Gary Harris is a homophobic dick. Got partnered with him. He’s a good shot and knows his stuff but bloody unbearable. Banged on about the fact that British police should be kitted with the HK UMP, not the MP5. Told him we all know we don’t use the latest kit but we don’t all shout about it. Said he wasn’t worried about his gun letting him down. Asked him what he meant. Went off on one about how it had been proven that gay officers were more likely to leave their partner in a spot. The usual old crap about not being “real” men and up to the job. Thought idiots like him got pensioned off ages ago. Was going to see the chief about it but Tony persuaded me to drop it. He’s probably right.
